Type of Position: Administrative Job Function: Reporting to the Vice President for Communications, the Executive Director for News and Strategic Communications will lead a fast-paced college news and media environment that informs and educates internal and external stakeholders and audiences about Barnard College. This role leads and manages issues and crisis management, media relations, internal and external communications. Primary responsibilities involve overseeing media relations strategy and efforts; setting and shaping the College's messaging strategy, advising on communications standards and best practices across Barnard's various publications and platforms; and preparing for and managing issues that impact Barnard's reputation. Department: Communications - Media Relations Required Qualification Summary: ●Bachelor's degree and minimum of ten years experience in news, public affairs and/or institutional (higher education, nonprofit, corporate, political, government) communications.
