| Digital Content Editor - WVU Tech (Beckley) 15878 Description West Virginia University Institute of Technology (WVU Tech), a regional division of West Virginia University, is seeking candidates for the position of Digital Content Editor. This position is as an integral member of the WVU Tech creative team and will coordinate jobs with internal and external clients as needed. The Digital Content Editor will be reporting to the Graphic Design Senior and the Assistant Director of University Relations. In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will: - Identify ways to build WVU Tech's visibility and enhance its reputation through innovative use of social media platforms.
- Handle daily posting/management/engagement on University Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn and other emerging platforms as identified.
- Develop monthly, quarterly and yearly reports for campus (UR) social media to gauge success.
- Develop and execute social media goals, campaigns and projects that align with department, division, unit and University goals.
- Collaborate with videographers, photographers, designers, writers, editors and others to deliver superb content for social and web.
- Record video and take photo as needed.
Work Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.; with additional late hours, and occasional weekends. - Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism or a related field required.
Type of Experience Needed : - Two (2) years of experience in day-to-day digital content management.
- Two (2) years of experience in professionally managing social media accounts.
- Two (2) years of experience interviewing, writing and editing.
Type of Experience Preferred : - One (1) year of experience in audio, video, photography experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : - The ability to learn the content management system in order to make content updates.
- Demonstrated experience with digital marketing campaigns and campaign tracking through Google Analytics and other tools.
- Demonstrated excellence in use of all popular social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.
- Demonstrated experience interviewing, editing, videography, photography and public speaking skills.
- Familiarity with AP style and the University's social media guidelines and personality.
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a larger team, both as a project leader or team member, depending on the particular assignment.
- Ability to work outside the traditional workweek when needed.
- Ability to operate the necessary computer, software, web-based and other high-tech, emerging equipment, and perform various communications duties using a broad range of web and publishing programs including our content management systems.
