NSU University School is seeking a Media Production and Broadcast and Digital Journalism specialist to teach television, radio, film, and other media arts to students in grades 6-12. This person will also run our state-of-the-art production and music recording studios and oversee our corresponding extracurricular program, USchool Network (USN).
In USN, students produce a weekly news magazine show, live sports broadcasts, live event coverage, podcasts, radio segments, and short films. Quality works are featured on our media outlets and submitted to competitions and festivals worldwide. We participate in local and national student competitions and festivals, like STN, All American High School Film Festival, FSPA, and the Suncoast Emmys. We hope to one day rival the top programs in the country! Our ideal candidate is someone who will lead the program long term into its next stage of development and help us create an award-winning program.
Qualified candidates will be able to teach both introductory and advanced level courses in digital media production, including skills in digital editing, sound engineering, lighting, graphic design, broadcast journalism, film, and studio production. While expertise in all areas of media production is not required, qualified candidates will demonstrate a willingness to learn and the ability to help students access the training necessary for growth and achievement.
